The course aims at providing a strong foundation where learning is a process of constant discovery. The course will lay the foundation for acquiring clarity of concepts of Steady Beat, Rhythm, Tempo, Pitch, Volume and Note Values building the foundation of any music student, who wants to learn any instrument. The student develops listening, reading & playing skills with an exploratory outlook in addition to acquiring knowledge.

Objectives

  • To undertand Note Values/Beats, Time Signature (4/4, 3/4, 2/4), Tempo
  • To understand diffrence Beats, Rests & Ties
  • To learn about Intervals (Melodic & Harmonic)
  • To understand and play C Major Chord Family on Staff
  • To make student acquainted to Dynamics (p,mp,mf,f) and Articulations (Slur, staccato)
  • To introduce to Read and Write Major Scales C and Relative A minor

  • Anyone of the age of 6 years and above.
  • Should have completed Fundamentals of Piano course with Shankar Mahadevan Academy or 1. should be able to Clap Steady Beat 2. Should be familiar with Staff Notation Basics 3. Should be able to read notation in alphabets 4. Should be able to play a simple tune such as Twinkle Twinkle Little Star or Jingle Bell with Notations as well as Staff
